I am a level 7 (MA equivalent) Clinical Supervisor and an approved member of the British Association for Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Supervision.

I am trained in cross modality supervision and currently supervise Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Integrative Counsellors, CBT Therapists and Psychotherapists.

My supervisees work within the NHS, private sector organisations, EAPS , affiliate groups and as private practitioners.

I also supervise trainee therapists from a variety of different courses.

Supervision provides therapists with a space where they can analyse their own clinical work with clients. The process focuses on the relationship and dynamics that may be playing out in the room, that inform or obstruct the client work. The analytic space created enables supervisees to see their own part as well as their client’s part in these dynamics. This allows them to consciously improve and develop the quality of their clinical practice and their ethical understanding of therapeutic process.

The importance of the effective use of supervision to inform practice is an essential part of BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
